Learning, Teaching and Assessment Principles |
| Pre-Task: Pupils should discuss their day in the classroom and talk about what they do. They should also be aware of the sequential order of events, as this will be important in completing the diary entries. Pupils should also discuss Cinderella and the kinds of things she has to do during the day. |
- Pupils develop confidence in ability to use the target language.
- Pupils build on prior knowledge and word knowledge.
|
| Pre-task: Pupils will need certain basic computer skills such as how to access an Internet site, and how to use the mouse to drag and drop items on a screen. Mouse skills can be developed with the help of the "Mousemaster" site: http://www.clta.on.ca/hillsofmexico/mm/hommm00.htm |
- The materials are presented in a variety of text types and media and are used for different purposes.
|
| Pupils will learn to tell the time of whole hours using an analog clock. The pupils will match the number words to the numbers on a clock. This will be done by means of a drag and drop activity. |
- The task stimulates pupils to seek further information
|
| Pupils will play memory games of matching cards with sentences to cards with pictures that illustrate these sentences. One game will relate to their activities and one game to Cinderella's daily work. When a correct pair has been found, the cards will flip over. |
