Desired Task Outcome Pupils will submit a diary page about themselves to the diary gallery.
Task Description Pupils will write a diary page for themselves using a word bank. Pupils will complete a simple form about themselves and then submit their diary to the diary gallery.
Assessment Pupils will use a personal checklist that will show what they have learned up till now.

Pre-task: Pupils will need to know how to sequence their activities for a typical day. They will use the sentences from the previous matching game to complete a diary.
  • Pupils develop confidence in their ability to use the target language.
  • Pupils build on prior knowledge and world knowledge.
Pre-task: Pupils will need to know how to fill in their personal and school details on a form in order to submit their diaries (first name, first letter of last name, school name and place in which they live).
  • Pupils develop confidence in their ability to use the target language
  • Pupils have opportunities to use the target language outside the classroom
Pupils will use a word or picture bank to complete the diary. Pupils will also be able to write their own sentences.

  • Task allows pupils to make choices.
  • Pupils are aware of the learning objectives.
  • Task links to pupils' prior experience.
  • Pupils are not afraid to make errors.
After completing the diary, the pupils will fill in a form and publish the diary in the diary gallery. This may be a good opportunity to raise the issue of Internet safety: "Everyone can see what I put on the web. What would I like other people to see and what not?"  
Pupils will use a personal checklist to mark what they have learned up until now. They can print their checklist.
