| Desired Outcome |
By the end of this unit, pupils will be able to display the results of a questionnaire about pets that they have conducted in their class. |
Stages for achieving the desired outcome:
- 1. The teacher can connect this unit to the story by having a discussion about the animals that appear in the story. The teacher and pupils can then discuss which animals pupils have in their homes.
- 2. Pupils will play a game in order to bring the animals back to Jack's farm. Pupils will then discuss the basic needs of pets - the type of foods they eat and the homes they live in. These facts will provide the basis for an online quiz that will prepare pupils for the tasks ahead.
- 3. Pupils and their teacher will discuss the kinds of questions needed for a class survey about pets. Pupils will be presented with a bank of questions for the survey. They will choose the questions that they want to use and print them out.
- 4. Pupils will conduct the survey in their class and collate the results. Pupils will enter the results in the website, and view them. Pupils will then read the survey results of other classes, and complete a quiz about them.
