Desired Outcome By the end of this unit, pupils will be able to fill in an online form that explains their feelings towards the story. They will find pictures from the Web that reflect their feelings.

Stages for achieving the desired outcome:
  • Pupils will match adjectives that describe feelings, thoughts behind the feelings, and pictures of faces that express the feelings.

  • Pupils will read sentences and see pictures that describe an event from the story. Pupils will have to describe the feelings of the character in the picture, using the adjectives they learned.

  • Pupils will answer questions about what they like or dislike about the story.

  • Pupils will fill in an online form expressing their opinions. They will look for pictures on the Web that express their feelings and add them to their forms and submit them. They can also describe what they do when they have a certain feeling.

This form is structured so that pupils use adjectives that they know, and pictures that can be easily found.
They will look for pictures on the Web that express their feelings, attach them to their forms and submit them. Pupils will visit the gallery and see how other pupils feel about the same story.

Assessment
At the end of the unit, pupils will assess their learning in three ways:

1. Pupils will fill in a self-assessment checklist.
2. Pupils will then make a word rose in which they will write five adjectives that describe feelings.
3. Finally, pupils will write what they liked/disliked about this unit. They can do this reflection in their native language.
