the end of this unit, pupils will be able to follow instructions, use a
map and be able to find simple information about famous places on the Internet.
They will also get to know the various parts and the organization of a web
page. |
Stages for achieving the desired outcome:
- Pupils will use a specially written site about the Bahai Gardens to learn
about the structure of an Internet site in general and the language used in
a landmark site in particular.
- Pupils will play a Treasure Hunt Game in an imaginary "Internet Forest"
in which they will be asked to follow simple directions and be able to access
information through visual information.
- Pupils will answer questions about famous places and landmarks.
- Pupils will write a web page about a landmark near where they live. This
could be a building, a meeting place or a local park or playground. Pupils
will complete a template in order to build the page, which will be displayed
in a gallery.

Pupils will be able
to write a very short description, use a picture to illustrate their writing
and understand the organization of a web page. |
2-3 lessons |
Pupils will choose
a local landmark and design a web page for it. The page will also contain
an advert in which the pupils can write about a real or imaginary shop. |
Assessment
- The pupils will evaluate themselves at the end of task 1 through a quiz.
- There will be an assessment checklist after task 2.
- The pupils will write open-ended answers to assess their performance at the end of the unit.
