  Learning, Teaching and Assessment Principles
Pre-task: Teachers discuss with pupils the fact that people in different places and from different cultures have different dishes. This is an opportunity for sharing personal practices and customs through food and traditional dishes.
  • The task caters to the variety of backgrounds - religious, cultural and ethnic - and varying interests of Israeli pupils.
Pre-task: This may be a good opportunity to discuss adverts on Internet sites. Recipe sites have many adverts for food products and pupils should be made aware of the difference between the main content of the site and the commercial content.
  • The materials enrich the pupils' general knowledge.
  • The materials stimulate pupils to seek further information that are presented in a variety of text types and media, and are used for different purposes.
Pupils will access and become acquainted with traditional recipe sites and food vocabulary by doing an Internet scavenger hunt.
Pupils will answer double-choice questions about different recipes from different countries.
  • Pupils have opportunities to learn by doing.
  • Tasks broaden pupils' horizons and motivate them to continue finding out about people, cultures, music and literature connected through English.
